JACENTO - Drowned in the Sacramento river, on the Yolo side, September 21, Marion, oldest son of Marion and Carolina Jacento, a native of California, 13 years, 3 months and 10 days.

Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, from the undertaking parlors of W.J. KAVANAUGH, 513 J street, Sunday September 28th, at 1:30 o*clock; thence to the Cathedral, Eleventh and K streets, where the funeral services will be held.

     Death of Carter Jackson

Carter JACKSON, the well known and respected colored citizen, died to-day at his home at Highland Park. He was a native of Virginia and within a couple of months of 86 years of age. Besides his wife, deceased leaves nine children - James, Henry, David, Mrs. Malinda ADAMS, Mrs. Louisa FORD, Mrs. Annie PARMELL and Mrs. Emma JACKSON.

The Death Roll

The death is announced of Robert S. GLOSSOP, a well-known printer. He was a native of Canada, 61 years of age, and leaves a wife here and relatives in Canada. The funeral will take place next Sunday under the auspices of the Typographical Union.

John HOLLINGSWORTH, a member of Engine Company No. 1, died yesterday after a short illness. He was a native of Canada and 65 years of age.  J.W. NIXON, whose death is also announced, was a son of the late Dr. A.B.  NIXON and was for many years in the postal service. He leaves, besides a wife and family, two brothers, A.B. and L.G. NIXON. Deceased was a member of Sacramento Parlor, Native Sons, and had many friends in this city.  Jeremiah CAHILL, a member of Troop B, the local cavalry company, died on Tuesday at the age of 22 years. He was a native of Iowa. He will be buried to-day with military honors. The services will be held at the Cathedral at 9:30 o’clock a.m.

George HALL, who cut his throat the other day in an attempt at suicide, died yesterday at the Sisters’ Hospital.
