CHARLES PRYDE CUTTEN (Republican) was born at Eureka,
California, May 8, 1875. Educated in public schools. Graduated from Leland
Stanford Junior University, 1899 with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Law. Is
now practicing as an attorney, with offices at 1209 Humboldt Bank Building, San
Francisco. Attorney for State Commission in Lunacy. Elected Member of Assembly
from Second District November 6, 1906. Elected State Senator from First
District November 3, 1908.

THADDEUS WILTON HUFF SHANAHAN (Democrat) was born in
Colusa County, California, January 11, 1859. Educated in the public schools and
under the tuition of his father, David N. Shanahan; attorney at law. Residence
and business address, Redding. Member of and served during the twenty-seventh,
twenty-eighth, twenty-ninth, thirtieth and thirty-second sessions of the
Assembly. Speaker pro tem of the Twenty-eighth Assembly. Commissioner for the
Revision and Reform of the Law of California, 1897 to 1899. Elected State
Senator from the Second District November 8, 1910.

ERNEST STRATTON BIRDSALL (Republican) was born at
Sacramento, June 27, 1876, and educated in the public schools of that city,
afterwards taking a course in the College of Agriculture, University of
California; is an olive-grower, with residence at East Auburn, Placer County;
elected Member of the Assembly from the Tenth District, November 6, 1906;
elected State Senator from the Third District, November 3, 1908.

JOHN BUNYAN SANFORD (Democrat) was born at Shelbyville,
Tennessee, May 17, 1869; came to California in January, 1882; attended the
public schools of Mendocino County, also Normal School at San Jose; taught
school for eight years, and served as member of Board of Education of Mendocino
County for several terms; editor and proprietor of Ukiah Dispatch-Democrat;
residence and business address Ukiah, California. Has served as Trustee of
State Normal School, San Jose; elected Member of Assembly from Ninth District
November, 1894; reelected November, 1896, and again elected November, 1898;
elected State Senator from Fourth District November 4, 1902; reelected November
6, 1906, and again elected November 8, 1910. He is the oldest member of the
Legislature from point of service, and when his present term expires will have
served eighteen years in the Legislature -- six years in the Assembly and
twelve years in the Senate.

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN RUSH (Republican) was born in
Sacramento County, California, in 1852; he received a common school education,
and is a farmer and stock raiser, with residence at Suisun, Solano County; he
served a term as Sheriff of that county from 1892 to 1896; he is a member of
the State Board of Agriculture; elected State Senator from the Fifth District
November 8, 1904; reelected November 3, 1908.

ALBERT EUGENE BOYNTON (Republican) was born in Oroville,
October 9, 1875; educated at Oroville Union High School and University of
Michigan; attorney at law. Residence and business address, Oroville,
California. Served as a member of the first Board of Trustees of city of
Oroville; elected State Senator from Sixth District November 6, 1906; reelected
November 8, 1910, having received Republican, Democratic and Socialist
nominations. President pro tem. of Senate, thirty-ninth session.

New York, May 5, 1863; received a common school education; fruit merchant;

LOUIS W. JUILLIARD (Democrat) was born at Red Bluff,
California, June 29, 1861, and received his education in the public schools and
the Pacific Methodist College; in 1895 he was admitted to practice as an
attorney at law, and is now following that profession, with residence at Santa
Rosa. For three terms he was County Clerk of Sonoma County, and has served as a
member of the Santa Rosa Board of Education; served twenty-one years as an
officer of the Fifth Infantry Regiment, National Guard of California, retiring
with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; elected Member of the Assembly from the
Fourteenth District, Sonoma County, on November 3, 1908; elected State Senator
from Eighth District, Sonoma County, on November 8, 1910.

ENNIO B. MARTINELLI (Republican) was born of Swiss
parents at Nicasio, Marin County, California, February 15, 1868. He was
educated in the public schools and at Santa Clara College, from which
institution he graduated in 1889 with the degree of A.M. He became an attorney
at law, and practices his profession at San Rafael, where he served as City
Attorney from 1893 to 1895. From 1895 to 1899 he served as District Attorney of
Marin County, and from 1902 to 1909 was a member of the Board of Managers of
the Mendocino State Hospital. On November 3, 1908, he was elected State Senator
from the Ninth District.

ANTHONY CAMINETTI (Democrat) was born at Jackson, Amador
County, California, July 30, 1854; he was educated in the public schools, and
took up the law as a profession; during the years of 1878 to 1882, inclusive,
he held the office of District Attorney of Amador County; in 1882 he was
elected Member of the Assembly from his home county and served through the
session on 1883 and the extra session of 1884; in 1886 he was elected State
Senator from Amador and Calaveras counties for the sessions of 1887 and 1889;
in 1890 he was elected Member of Congress form the Second District, and
reelected in 1892; in 1896 he was again elected member of the Assembly from
Amador County and reelected in 1898; in April, 1897, he was appointed Code
Commissioner by Governor Budd, and served until July 31, 1899; elected State
Senator from the Tenth District November 6, 1906, and reelected in November, 1910.

JOHN THOMAS LEWIS (Republican) was born at Sutter Creek,
Amador County, California; received his education in public schools; building
contractor; resides at Stockton, California; elected State Senator from
Eleventh District November 3, 1908.

JOHN BARRY CURTIN (Democrat) was born at Gold Springs,
Tuolumne County, California, May 15, 1867; he received his education in the
public schools and from private instruction, and is an attorney at law, with
residence at Sonora; in 1892 he was elected District Attorney of Tuolumne
County, and elected State Senator from the Twelfth District in 1898; he was
reelected in 1902, and again reelected November 6, 1906; reelected State
Senator from the Twelfth District, November 8, 1910. Since 1905, Senator Curtin
has been a State Commissioner on Revenue and Taxation.

EDWARD KEATING STROBRIDGE (Republican) was born at
Truckee, Nevada County, California, June 8, 1869, and received a public school
and business college education; he is a fruit grower, with residence at
Hayward; elected Member of the Assembly from the Forty-sixth District November
8, 1904, and reelected November 6, 1906; on November 3, 1908, he was elected
State Senator from the Thirteenth District.

GEORGE JACOB HANS (Republican) is a native of San
Francisco, born April 5, 1868, and received a public school and business
education; he is an accountant, with residence in Fruitvale, Alameda County; was
for ten years a member of the Board of Trustees of Bray School District and
secretary of the Board of Trustees of the John C. Fremont High School at
Fruitvale; elected Member of the Assembly from the Fifty-first District
November 6, 1906; reelected November 3, 1908; elected State Senator from

JOHN WALTER STETSON (Republican) was born at Fruitvale,
Alameda County, California, September 24, 1871; he received his education in
the public schools and in the University of California and is an attorney at
law, with residence in Oakland; was elected to the office of City Justice for
that city in 1898, and again in 1902; on August 1, 1903, he was appointed
attorney for the State Commission in Lunacy; elected Member of the Assembly
from the Fiftieth District November 6, 1906, elected State Senator from the
Fifteenth District November 3, 1908.

EDWARD J. TYRRELL (Republican) was born at Oakland,
California, May 19, 1880; educated in Oakland's public grammar and high
schools; attorney at law; residence and business address, Oakland, California;
secretary to Mayor Frank K. Mott from April 1, 1905, to January 1, 1911;
elected State Senator from Sixteenth District November 8, 1910.

THOMAS F. FINN (Republican and Union Labor) was born at
San Francisco, November 23, 1873; received a common school education, and is by
occupation a clerk. In 1902 he was elected on the Democratic and Union Labor
tickets as a Member of the Assembly from the Twenty-ninth Assembly District, at
San Francisco, for which city he has also since served as a member of the Board
of Supervisors, president of the Fire Commissioners, and member of the Board of
Police Commissioners. On November 3, 1908, he was elected State Senator from
the Seventeenth Senatorial District on the Republican and Union Labor tickets;
on November 2, 1909, he was elected on the Union Labor ticket as Sheriff of the
city and county of San Francisco.

DANIEL P. REGAN (Republican) was born at San Francisco,
April 16, 881; educated at St. Patrick's parochial school; clerk; business
address 22 Ninth street, San Francisco; elected State Senator from Eighteenth
District November 8, 1910.

RICHARD J. WELCH (Republican and Union Labor) was born
in New York State, February 13, 1869, and educated in the public schools; in
1885 he came to California; in November, 1900, he was elected State Senator
from the Nineteenth District and reelected November 8, 1904; on June 1, 1903,
he received the appointment of Chief Wharfinger for the Harbor of San
Francisco; retired from that position July 1, 1907; reelected State Senator
from the Nineteenth District November 3, 1908.

Francisco, May 23, 1879; received his education in public schools of native
city; clerk; residence, 305 North avenue, San Francisco; elected State Senator

EDWARD I. WOLFE (Republican) was born in Hull, England,
March 15, 1860; in 1874 came to California, and attended the public schools of

Senator from the Twenty-first District in 1896, and reelected in 1900; again
reelected November 8, 1904; again reelected November 3, 1908, on the Republican

DOMINICK JOSEPH BEBAN (Republican) was born in San
Francisco, May 16, 1872; graduate of the public schools of the city and county
of San Francisco; is a printing pressman by trade; from 1906 to 1908 held the
position of Deputy Sheriff in San Francisco; elected a Member of the Assembly
from the Forty-third Assembly District November 6, 1906, on the Republican and
Union Labor tickets; reelected November 3, 1908, as a nominee of the same
parties; from 1910 to 1912 again held the position of Deputy Sheriff in San
Francisco; elected to the Senate from the Twenty-fourth Senatorial District of
San Francisco November 3, 1910, on the Republican ticket.

LESTER GRANT BURNETT (Republican) is a native of San
Francisco, where he was born August 7, 1867; he received his education in the
public schools, St. Matthew's Hall at San Mateo, Trinity School at San
Francisco the University of California, and Hastings College of the Law; he is
practicing his profession of attorney at law, with residence in his native
city; elected State Senator from Twenty-fifth District November 3, 1908.

GEORGE WILDER CARTWRIGHT (Democrat) was born in Coles
County, Illinois, November 9, 1865, but in July of 1869 removed to California,
and received his education in the public schools of this State, together with
individual instruction at home; he settled in Fresno County, and in 1896 was
elected Member of the Assembly from the Sixty-second District; in 1898 he was
elected County Clerk; on March 12, 1903, he was admitted to practice as a
lawyer; elected State Senator from the Twenty-sixth District November 6, 1906;
reelected State Senator from Twenty-sixth District November 8, 1910.

GEORGE S. WALKER (Republican) was born at Santa Rosa,
California, September 21, 1874, and educated in the public schools of this
State; he made his home in Los Gatos, Santa Clara County, engaged for a time in
the newspaper and printing business, and then became assistant postmaster at
San Jose. In November of 1900 he was elected Member of the Assembly from Santa
Clara County, and reelected in 1902; elected State Senator from the
Twenty-seventy District November 6, 1906, to fill out the unexpired term of Eli
Wright; on November 3, 1908, he was reelected for the full term; on April 10,
1911, he was appointed State Building and Loan Commissioner.

MARSHALL BLACK (Republican) was born in Delaware
County, Ohio, February 19, 1870; educated at Ohio Wesleyan University and
Leland Stanford, Jr. University; business, real estate and loans; was elected a
Member of the Assembly from the Fifty-seventh Assembly District November, 1902;
elected State Senator from Twenty-eighth District November 6, 1906, and
reelected November 8, 1910.

JAMES B. HOLOHAN (Democrat) was born at Watsonville,
California, on June 19, 1871. He received his education in the public schools,
and is a fruit grower, with residence in his native city. On November 3, 1908,
he was elected State Senator from the Twenty-ninth District.

JOHN L. AVEY (Republican) was born at Logan, Ohio,
January 25, 1865; educated at Penn College, Iowa, and University of Louisville,
Kentucky; physician; residence and business address, Redlands, California;

ARCHIBALD E. CAMPBELL (Democrat) was born at Cambria,
San Luis Obispo County, California, on April 29, 1873. He was educated in Santa

W. H. WRIGHT (Republican) was born in Middleboro,
Massachusetts, August 10, 1867; came to California in 1870; graduated from the
State Normal School at Los Angeles in 1885; taught school from 1885 to 1893;
was United States Storekeeper in 1893 and 1894; Assistant Superintendent of
Schools of Los Angeles County from 1895 to 1897; taught school from 1897 to
1900, during which time he served on the County Board of Education and was
president of that body during the last year of his term. Was in the book and
stationery business in Los Angeles from 1900 until 1903; Deputy County Clerk of
Los Angeles County in 1904; Assistant Secretary of the Senate, 1905; Assistant
Clerk of the Assembly, 1907; Minute Clerk of the Senate, 1909; First Assistant
Secretary of the Senate, 1911; County Statistician of Los Angeles County from
1907 to 1910; at present is Real Estate Valuation Deputy in the office of the
County Assessor of Los Angeles County.
HARVEY P. TRAVERS (Republican) was born in Oakland,
California; attended the grammar and high schools of that city, and the
University of California, also College of Physicians and Surgeons of San
Francisco, receiving a degree of D.D.S. He was appointed as Assistant Secretary
of the Senate in 1905 and reappointed to the same position in 1907, 1909, and
1911.
FRANK MATTISON (Republican) was born at Santa Cruz,
California, February 5, 1860, and received a common school education. His
business is that of searcher of records, with residence in his native city.

HENRY H. WYMAN (Republican) was born at Westminster,
Massachusetts, March 6, 1849, attended the public schools at Garden,
Massachusetts, and graduated from Brown University, at Providence, Rhode
Island, in 1871. At New York City, on March 8, 1876, he was ordained a Roman
Catholic priest in the Paulist Order. Father Wyman is Superior of the Paulist
Fathers in California and pastor of St. Mary's (Old Cathedral) Church at San
Francisco. He was elected Chaplain of the California Senate at the session of
1909.
JOSEPH L. COUGHLIN (Republican) was born in Oakland, April
16, 1880. He received his education in the public and parochial schools and at
St. Mary's College. In 1903-05 he was Deputy City Auditor; in 1905-09 Deputy
Superintendent of Streets, and is now Deputy City Treasurer. He was elected
Sergeant-at-Arms of the Senate January 1, 1911.

Mendocino County, California, September 12, 1876; he finished his education at

Santa Cruz County, California, January 19, 1869, and was educated in the public
schools of his native city; for a time he engaged in farming a large tract of
land which he owned in Monterey County, but for several years past has made his
home in San Francisco; he has served as Assistant Clerk of the Assembly during
the sessions of 1901, 1903, 1905, 1907, 1909, and 1911.
REV. FRANK KLINE BAKER, D.D. (Republican), is a native on
Pennsylvania, born May 4, 1866; he was educated in the public schools of his
native city, and graduated from the Juniata College, Huntington, Pa., 1887, and
the Boston University School of Theology, 1900; was licenses as a Methodist
preacher in his native state in 1887; entered the ministry of the California
Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1888; has served
pastorates at Sonora, Oakland, Ione, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz, and is now
pastor of the First Church in Sacramento; he is the author of several small church
histories, and has always identified himself with movements for civic
betterment; elected Chaplain of the Assembly January 3, 1911.
EDWARD H. WHYTE (Republican) was born in Shingle Springs,
El Dorado County, July 17, 1869; moved to Sacramento with parents in 1871;
educated at Brothers' College, Sacramento; elected Sergeant-at-Arms of the
thirty-ninth session of the California Legislature; appointed Parole Officer
and State Agent of California, 1911.
EDW. E. REESE (Republican) was born August 2, 1880, in
Sacramento County, California. He graduated from the University of California
in 1903; was Sheriff of Sacramento County from February 10, 1910, until January
1, 1911. Appointed Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms of the Assembly at the session of
