In 1952 the Stockton system was under the 6-4-4 plan, the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th grades being located together in one plant south of the football fields/stadium of the then College of Pacific. The Colts were the 11th and 12th grades trackmen and competed against other California high schools, primarily schools in the Sac-Joaquin Conference.
