JOSEPH
WALTER RODGERS
Joseph
Walter Rodgers, president and director of Western Box Distributors, San
Francisco, and treasurer and director of Lassen Lumber & Box Inc.,
Susanville, California, was born March 28, 1889, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The son of Joseph F. and Clara (Kunzler)
Rodgers. His preparatory education was received at Carnegie Institute of
Technology.
Mr. Rodgers was secretary of The
Empire Lumber Company, Pittsburgh, Pensylvania, (sic) from 1915 to 1920; vice
president and director of Lassen Lumber & Box Co., San Francisco, from 1920
to 1944, and president and director from 1944 to 1950; vice president of Moon
Lumber Company, Ashland, Oregon, from 1929 to 1935; and president and director
of Western Box Distributors since 1934.
He was president of National Wooden
Box Association during 1942-1943; treasurer of the Wooden Box Institute, and is
a member of the Burlingame Country Club.
Mr. Rodgers married Frances Harris,
of Jackson, Miss., on November 26, 1913, and they have three children; J. W.
Jr., J. Bowmar, and Sally Rodgers Freeman.
