ARTHUR
DALE KING
Arthur
Dale King, was president of King Lumber Company and others, and was born in
Normandy, Tennessee, on August 16, 1872. He was the son of Robertson Jefferson
and Mary Jane (Bramblette) King.
He received his education in the
public grade and high schools of Tennessee and California.
Mr. King began his career in 1892 as
cashier for the First National Bank of Hanford, California, and continued with
them until 1903, at which time he organized the King Lumber Company of which he
was president. He was also president of the Kimble Oil Company, 1440 Broadway
Corporation, and Fourth and Market Realty Company; director of Wells Fargo Bank
& Union Trust Company, Cal-Western States Life Insurance Company, and the
Merchants Exchange, Inc.
Member at time of his death of the
Seismological Society of America; Astronomical Society of Pacific; California
Historical Society; and the following clubs: Pacific-Union, Bohemian, Press,
Commonwealth, Commercial, and Burlingame Country; belonged to the Episcopal
Church; and was a Republican in politics.
Mr. King married Florence Yoakum on
March 21, 1899, and has two daughters: Geraldine (Mrs. Winston Stuart Cowgill) and Dale Florence (Mrs. Charles E. Christenson).
