CARL
WILLIAM ANDERSON
Carl
William Anderson, lawyer, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 15, 1901; the
son of Carl Oscar Frederick Anderson and Ada Augusta
(Johnson).
After completing his elementary
education in the schools of San Francisco and Livermore, California, he farmed
until 1921, at which time he entered Stanford University where he received a
pre-legal A.B. degree in 1926 and the degree of Juris
Doctor in 1928. During the period from the time of graduation in 1919 from the
Livermore Union High School to 1921, in addition to the farming, he wrote two
songs which were published and two scenarios. While at Stanford, he took part
in dramatics and was on Stanford’s fencing team for three years. In his senior
year in high school, he was class president and Valedictorian. While at
Stanford, he was president of the Masonic Club and past royal patron of the
Amaranth and past president of the Burlingame Eagles.
Mr. Anderson is in the practice of law
in Burlingame, California and has served in a number of public offices:
attorney for the Public Administrator of San Mateo County and city attorney of
the City of San Carlos; he has also served on the San Mateo County Planning
Commission and the Republican County Central Committee. He was awarded the
Congressional Medal of Merit for his services as appeal agent of Selective
Service, 1940-47. He is also a director and officer of a number of
corporations.
He is a 32d degree Mason and has served
as officer, director and president of a number of fraternal organizations.
Mr. Anderson was married to Audrey
Marion Regan and their home is at 595 Chestnut Street, San Carlos, California.
