Mira K. D. Abbott (Mrs. H. B. Maclay). Taught a short time. Married in 1893. Since her marriage she has been engaged in newspaper work. Was for a time connected with the Mercury-Herald. Later she moved to Berkeley, and has devoted all of her time to literary work, in which she has been quite successful.

Jennie C. Applegarth (Mrs. Trewhitt), Last reported teaching Pioneer School, Kings County, near Hanford.

Matilda S. Baker, 17 S. 11^th St., San Jose, Calif. Taught in Solano and Santa Clara Counties.

Lily E. Bayne (Mrs. L. E. Rasmussen), Coloma, Eldorado County, Calif. Taught in Eldorado County. Married December 27, 1893.

M. Emilie Bergen, Berkeley, Calif. Taught continuously in Berkeley. Principal of Longfellow school in 1904.

Clara A. Boyer, Oleander, Calif. In 1905 had taught continuously.

Anna E. Carroll (Mrs. W. G. Jones), Taught in Santa Clara County. Married in 1904. She lived in San Jose after her marriage and in 1918 her address was still San Jose, but her death occurred in San Francisco, September 23, 1920.

Ida E. Carter, Mills College, Calif. She taught in the northern part of the state and in Arizona, but most of her teaching has been in Alameda County.

Florence H. Childs (deceased), Daughter of C.W. Childs, principal of the State Normal School. Died in San Francisco February 8, 1891.

E. May Cogswell (Mrs. John H. Sammi), 116 Sacramento St., San Francisco, Calif. Taught until her marriage in 1896.

Jessie D. Daby (Mrs. J. B. Tilley), 1354 Grove St., San Francisco, Calif. Married November 30, 1893.

Emma C. Dahlgren (Mrs. A. Dahlberg), 3535 Sacramento St., San Francisco, Calif. Taught in Monterey County, also in Fresno County and in Santa Clara County. In 1893 was in Morgan Hill.

Maggie J. Dowling, 95 Scott St., San Francisco, Calif. Taught in various counties of the state. Was vice-principal at Maxwell, Colusa County.

Anna Dunlap, Manila, P.I. Taught in this state until 1900. Attended University of California. In 1903 wrote that she was teaching in the Philippine Islands, at Mexico, Pamganga.

Emily J. Ely (Mrs. G. N. Jacobs), Woodland, Calif. Taught two years in Yolo County. Married September 10, 1893.

Estelle Farrington, Vallejo, Calif. Taught most of the time in Solano County. In 1903 was teaching in Vallejo.

Daisy Fleming (Mrs. F. W. Johnstone), 757 Santa Clara Ave., Alameda, Calif. Taught until her marriage in 1896. In 1922 was living in Alameda.

Lizzie R. Gallagher, 1253 Union St., San Francisco, Calif. Has been teaching most of the time in the San Francisco schools.

Mae I. Gates (Mrs. R. G. Hamilton), Present address, 1441 Jones St., San Francisco, Calif. Taught in Alameda County.

John G. Gwartney (deceased), Taught in northern part of the state, and in Nevada. Graduated from Stanford in 1898. Taught in Orosi High School.

Maggie V. Kelly (Mrs. M. L. Virden), 1139 Madison Ave., New York. Taught in Mono County. Married in 1894. In 1901 was in New York. In 1902 was teaching in New York City.

Annie B. Keslar (Mrs. George S. Schoenberger), Skagway, Alaska. Taught in Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties. Married in 1897. Lived in Montana one year, but gave Monterey as home address. At last report, 1900 was to teach in Skagway, Alaska.

Enid Kinney, 455 Coleridge Ave., Palo Alto, Calif. Taught a short time and gave private lessons in drawing. Graduated from Stanford University, and in 1899 entered the art department of the San Jose Normal as an instructor in drawing. Remained until 1919 when she retired and has spent much of her time since in painting and in travel. Has made several trips aboard and has studied art extensively in France.

Adeline B. Latham, 1433 St., San Francisco, Calif. Taught in the northern part of California and in Oregon. Spent two years in the east. In 1898 was in San Francisco.

Lillian M. Libbey, 1816 O'Farrell St., San Francisco, Calif. In 1901 was teaching in San Francisco.

Alice B. Malloy (Mrs. Joseph Dias), 266 S. 7^th St., San Jose, Calif. Taught in Alameda and in Santa Clara Counties. Married in 1897. Studied optometry and is a doctor of optomerty. Assists her husband in the supervision of the Centerville school.

Mabel Merrill, 17 Van Ness Ave., Santa Cruz, Calif. Taught in Santa Cruz.

Honorine F. Monaghan (Mrs. Edward Kelly) (deceased), Taught until her marriage in 1895.

Estella M. Murdoch, San Diego, Calif. Taught in San Diego County.

Mary E. O'Leary, Post & Franklin Sts., San Francisco, Calif. Taught in Lake County until 1893 when she began teaching in the Garfield School, San Francisco. Later taught in the Lincoln School.

Nellie L. Ottmer (Mrs. Coleman), Payson, Arizona. Taught in Sonoma County. Went to Arizona in 1892. Taught there until 1894 when she married.

Cora M. Poage (Mrs. (Rev.) H. C. Mohn), Pasadena, Calif. Taught in Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. Married in 1892. Reported in 1895 as living in Pasadena. Two children.

Thomas J. Roesman, Gridley, Calif. Taught in Mendocino County. Graduated from Stanford. In 1919 was working for his master's degree at University of California. At last report, (about 1920) was principal of high school in Gridley.

C. Grace Barnhisel (Mrs. Charles Hudson), Pacific Grove, Calif. Taught for a time. Graduated from Stanford University. Married Charles Hudson, author and artist. Two children, a son and a daughter.

Harding M. Kennedy (deceased). Taught for a time. Entered eastern Conservatory of Music. Graduated from Dana's Musical Institute, Warren, Ohio. Took graduate work, and completed course for master's degree. Member of faculty. Later taught music in Riverside, and in Ontario, Calif. Spent two years studying in Europe. Opened music studio in Berkeley. Married Alma Schmidt in 1904. He was a correspondent of the Violin World while he was studying in Germany, and was rated as a brilliant violinist. His death occurred in 1916.

Leola McCreary (Mrs. H. E. Bigelow), O'Neal's, Madera County, Calif. Taught until her marriage in 1893. Visited Normal School in 1911.

Mittie U. Myers, New Whatcom, Wash. Taught in northern part of state. Graduated from University of California in 1899. Her home address was Reno, Nevada. When last heard from was teaching in the State Normal School at New Whatcom, Washington.

Ellen F. Kelly (Mrs. Charles Daniel Chapman), Santa Clara, Calif. Taught for a short time in Normal Training School. Married February 27, 1900.

Mary Alice Newcomb, San Jose, Calif. Taught Mathematics, Science, and Latin in San Jose Academy. Graduated from King Conservatory of Music in 1897. Received her degree from Stanford University in 1906.

Julia M. Poston, Yountville, Calif. Taught in San Joaquin and Napa Counties. Principal of Yountville School.

Christina Reeg (Mrs. John Bayne), Placerville, Calif. Taught in and near Placerville.

Jozie C. Rider (Mrs. C. C. Corbiere), Redding, Calif. Taught in Napa County. Married in 1904.

Kate I. Sargent (deceased), Taught a very short time. Died September 29, 1893.

Blanche H. Schick (Mrs. G. A. Littler), 1501 Vallejo St., San Francisco, Calif. Taught until her marriage in 1897.

A. Florence Smith (Mrs. Edmund S. Smith), Napa City, Calif. Taught in Napa County. In 1894 was in Tokyo, Japan, teaching English in a Japanese family, Baron Iwaski. Also did some work in American Episcopal Mission. Taught both in private schools and under the Japanese government until 1906. Traveled and returned to America. In 1908 was to enter Teachers College, Columbia University, New York.

Carrie M. Thompson (Mrs. Delos W. Smythe), San Jose, Calif. Taught in Santa Clara.

Mary G. Tormey, 595 S. 15^th St., San Jose, Calif. Taught in Santa Cruz County and in Milwaukee, Wis. Since 1898 has been teaching in San Jose, Horace Mann Grammar School.

Jessica S. Vance, Ontario, Calif. Received master's degree from Stanford in 1898. Assisted in English department at Stanford for two years. Taught in Los Angeles Normal School, and when last reporting was teaching in Chaffey College, Ontario.

Helen C. Wight (Mrs. Frank H. Turner), Sattley, Calif. Taught in San Benito and in Contra Costa Counties. Engaged in merchandise. Was chairman of Red Cross; active in Food Administration and Council of Defense; has been book salesman and postmistress. Has one daughter who was gold medal student at the University of Nevada where she was graduated. Mrs. Turner has studied continually and writes that, her “wagon is still hitched to an A.B. Star.” She is teaching in Sattley and her daughter teaches in high school.

Bertha A. Wiltz, San Jose, Calif. Taught in San Luis Obispo County. Attended Stanford and was graduated. Teaching in Santa Clara High School.

E. Kate Biggerstaff, Lakeport, Calif. Has taught for many years in Lake County. Last report in 1915 gave her teaching at Middletown.

Elma S. Boyce (Mrs. Elma S. Eade), Salinas, Calif. Taught in Stanislaus and Monterey Counties. Married September 12, 1894.

Sylvia H. Boyce, 2618 College Ave., Berkeley, Calif. Taught in Monterey County. Studied osteopathy, and is now practicing in Berkeley. Writes in the highest terms of the foundation work received in the Normal School.

Lilian R. Breyfogle, Madera, Calif. Taught in Madera.

Micager E. Brooks, 1205 Alice St., Oakland, Calif. Taught in Fresno County. Married 1894. Member of Board of Education in Tuolumne County. Visited Normal in 1918. Was then in employ of S.P.R.R. at Oakland Pier.

Juliette A. Burns, South Pasadena, Calif. Taught in Stanislaus and in Santa Clara Counties. Graduated from Pacific College of Oesteopathy, South Pasadena in 1905.

Eleanor A. Carlson, San Jose, Calif. Taught in Fairfield, Davis and Winters.

Eva W. Carnes (Mrs. Leroy E. Armstrong) (deceased). Taught until her marriage in 1897. Husband member of 1896 class. Died at Encinal, Santa Clara County, May 20, 1898.

Florence E. Coggswell (Mrs. Wm. P. Mills), Sitka, Alaska. Taught in Monterey County. Substituted in San Francisco schools. Married December 18, 1894.

Sam H. Cohn, Sacramento, Calif. Taught in Alameda County for many years. Principal of grammar school, also principal of school in Stockton. Attended University of California. Was appointed deputy superintendent of public instruction under Will C. Wood, and still holds this position.

Eliza Cross (Mrs. Howard May), 1752 Vine St., Berkeley, Calif. Taught in Santa Clara County. Student at University of California, where she secured high school credentials. A student of international problems. Has written religious pageants. Active in church federations. Press chairman for Congregational women.

Addie E. Denney (Mrs. Dickinson), Waitsburg, Wash. Taught in Washington. Principal Waitsburg school. Married in 1893.

Laura B. Everett, 2632 Regent St., Berkeley, Calif. Taught until 1898, part of the time as assistant in Sutter Union High School. Entered Stanford and graduated in 1901. Taught in High School in Selma. In 1921 was teaching in Technical High School, Oakland.

Alice M. Fountain, St. Helena, Calif. Vice-principal in St. Helena school. Visited Normal School in 1912.

Cyrus J. Gaddis (Dr.), 471 Chetwood Ave., Oakland, Calif. Taught until 1895. Went east. Was principal high school at Bertrand, Nebraska for one year. Worked for the University Association. Graduated from the American School of Osteopathy at Kirksville, Missouri after course of three years. Practiced in Ft. Collins, Colorado. In 1908 returned to California and began practicing in Oakland, First National Bank Building.

Helen D. Geis, Los Angeles, Calif. Taught in Fresno. Graduated from Stanford. Teaching Polytechnic High School. Los Angeles.

Anthony Henry Suzzallo, Entered Stanford and received his AB in 1899. His master's degree and doctor's degree were received from Columbia University. He taught in Alameda County, and was principal of one of the schools there before completing his university course. He was called to the department of education at Stanford, and was superintendent of the San Francisco schools for a year. He was lecturer and acting head of the department of education at Teachers College during 1904-5. He was connected with Columbia University until he was called to take the presidency of the State University of Washington in 1916. He has written extensively on educational subjects, and is one of the most distinguished graduates of this school, an outstanding figure in the educational field of the country. Since his retirement from the presidency of the University at Seattle he has been appointed elector on the Hall of Fame commission. Now in Europe in the interest of education under the Carnegie Foundation.

She later returned to California and went to Philadelphia where she was married. Her death occurred a few months later in 1905.
