GEORGE W. WETHERBEE
GEORGE W. WETHERBEE, a farmer
of Castoria Township, was born in New York State in 1865. He went with his
parents to Wisconsin when a lad and remained on their farm until fifteen years
of age. In 1877 he came to San Joaquin County and at once went to work on a
farm for H. W. Cowell, mentioned elsewhere in this book, for whom he worked
five years. He then went to Merced County, where he farmed for some time.
Returning he again went to work for Cowell, remaining with with (sic) him for
two years. At the end of that time he bought the place on which he now resides,
situated eleven miles from Stockton and three miles from Lathrop. He is
principally engaged in the raising of stock and grain.
He was married in San Joaquin County, to
Miss Eva Litchfield, daughter of Albert Litchfield, who was born in Illinois,
in 1867. They have one son, Clarence H.
