A. F. SAUSSER
One of the most popular hotels on
the main highway between Old Mexico and Canada is the Log Cabin Hotel at Weed,
California, owned and operated by A. F. Sausser. This thirty-eight hostelry, conducted to
satisfy the most fastidious tourist, and with reasonable rates, is considered
the leading hotel in Weed and is well known to both the tourist and the
commercial trade. As its name indicates,
the exterior of the building is constructed of native logs and presents a most
artistic appearance.
F.
Sausser was born in the state of Kansas, and there acquired his education. In 1910 he came to California, first locating
in Los Angeles, where he conducted a hotel and apartment house. Fifteen years later, in 1925, he sold his
interests in that city and came to Weed, California, where he purchased the Log
Cabin Hotel, which he has conducted most successfully to the present time. He also has an excellent restaurant and soda
fountain in conjunction. Mr. Sausser is
not only a popular hotel proprietor but is also well known in fraternal circles
as a member of Ashland Lodge, No. 944, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
In
early manhood Mr. Sausser married Martha E. Howell, of Texas, and they are the
parents of three children, Bessie, Louisa and Richard, all of whom are married
and maintain homes of their own.
