ALEXANDER KLEIN
Alexander Klein, who, after many years of active effort,
is now living retired, having gained a comfortable competence, is one of Weed’s
best citizens and is greatly respected throughout the community. He was born in
Germany, on the 11th of May, 1861, and is a son of Frank and Elmira
Klein. On coming to the United States, the family located in Detroit, Michigan,
where the father followed the baker’s trade, and in that city both parents
passed away.
Alexander Klein came to California in 1900 and first
located in Sacramento, where he took up the logging business. He followed that
line of work for many years in various places, but his home has been in Weed
for the past twenty years. Two years ago he retired from active work, though he
still gives attention to his private interests.
Mr. Klein was united in marriage to Miss Ida Sellis, who died in Seattle, Washington, many years ago.
Mr. Klein is a kind hearted and generous man and has been of material
assistance to many men in need. He has seen many changes in the way of
improvement and development in Weed and is well acquainted in this locality,
having many friends, who esteem him for his many excellent qualities and his
interest in the welfare of those about him.
