V. W. HART, M. D.

Among the younger professional men of the Sacramento Valley, Dr. V. W. Hart, who is engaged in the practice of medicine at Yreka, California, occupies a position of importance. In the comparatively few years he has been active here, he has gained for himself a most satisfactory clientele, and has inspired confidence wherever he has made contact. Doctor Hart is a veteran of the World war, and manifests a deep interest in all affairs of local importance.

Doctor Hart was born in the state of Ohio, February 7, 1896. He was educated in the grade and high schools of Oberlin, Ohio, graduating from the latter in 1920, then entered Western Reserve Medical College at Cleveland, Ohio, from which he received the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1924. Prior to the World war, he was in the United States Navy for three years, and in 1917 he enlisted in the ambulance corps of the Untied States Army, subsequently gaining the rank of second lieutenant. He was stationed at various points on the east coast in army medical and hospital work and was honorably discharged from the service in September, 1919. He then resumed his education, as noted above. This completed, he came to the state of California, locating in Sacramento for one year, then came to Yreka, where he has since practiced medicine and surgery. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity, and the Sciots, also Ross Nielon Post, No. 122, of the American Legion. Golfing is his favorite sport.

Doctor Hart was married in 1923 to Miss Ruth Carpenter, who is also a graduate physician, having completed a course in the Women’s Medical College in Philadelphia in 1923. She is an able assistant to her husband, and when he is away takes full charge of his office and patients. They are the parents of two children, Joan and Richard.
