O. D. BRADSHAW
A
leading soft drink establishment in Weed is owned and managed by O. D.
Bradshaw, who has developed a large and prosperous business. He was born in Kansas, on the 4th
of January, 1882, and is a son of Daniel Austin and Nancy (Choate)
Bradshaw. His father, who was a farmer,
moved to Nevada in 1882 and lived in that state for ten years. In 1892 he located in Inyo County,
California, near Bishop, where he devoted the remaining years of his life to
general farming. He was a member of the
Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Bishop.
O.
D. Bradshaw, who was but a babe in arms when brought west, received his
education in the grade schools in Owens Valley, California, after which he
engaged in the saloon business, which he followed at various places. About twelve years ago he came to Weed and
here opened a soft drink parlor, which he is still conducting. He carries a full line of such goods as are
demanded by the local trade and has won success in the business, due to his
courtesy and accommodation. He owns his
home in Weed.
In
1905 Mr. Bradshaw was united in marriage to Miss Fannie Bryant, who was born
and reared in Oregon, but later spent some years in the state of Montana. They are the parents of two sons, Ted Austin
and Russell Howard, both of whom are employed by the Weed Lumber Company. Mr. Bradshaw is a lover of outdoor life,
fishing and hunting being his favorite sports, and in both he is an
expert. He is a genial and agreeable
man, a good mixer, and is very popular throughout the circle of his
acquaintance.
