WILLIAM
ROSS WALLACE, JR.
William
Ross Wallace, Jr., lawyer was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 14, 1898;
son of William Ross and Annie (McChrystal).
His preparatory education was
obtained at Harvard College; legal education at Harvard Law School, Oxford
University, George Washington University, and University of Utah; admitted to
the Utah bar in 1925 and the California bar in 1927.
Mr. Wallace was in practice of the
law at Salt Lake City, Utah, from 1925 to 1927, then
removed to San Francisco, California, where he became a member of the firm of
Williamson, Wallace & Vaughan in 1929. The firm changed to Williamson &
Wallace in 1930. He is now a member of the firm of Wallace, Garrison, Norton
& Ray (senior member).
He is a director of the Federal
Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Lawrence Warehouse Company, Hodges Research and
Development Company, Lawrence Investment Corporation, Sterling Furniture
Company, Madrone Vineyards, Almaden
Santa Clara Vineyards, (all of San Francisco); Thermal Liquids of New York, and
is a trustee of the California Palace of Legion of Honor.
He holds membership in the State Bar
of California, Bar Association of San Francisco (president, 1946), Association
of the Bar of the City of New York, and American Bar Association; Pacific-Union
Club (San Francisco, California); Burlingame Country Club (Burlingame,
California); Harvard Club, India House (New York City); University Club
(Washington, D.C.).
On March 16, 1939, Mr. Wallace was
married to Ina Clair at Salt Lake City. Utah. Their home is at 1000 Mason
Street, San Francisco, California.
