A man of keen faculties and brilliant legal attainments who has become one of the leaders of the bar of northern California is John F. Shuman, member of the prominent and long established law firm of Morrison, Hohfeld, Foerster, Shuman & Clark, of San Francisco.

 

Mr. Shuman is a native son of California, born in 1884 at Santa Maria. After completing his preparatory training in public schools he entered the University of California, which conferred on him the degree of B. L. in 1906. His legal training was obtained at the law school of Harvard University, from which he graduated with the LL. B. in 1909. He was admitted to the California bar that same year.

 

Soon after Mr. Shuman became associated in practice with the firm of Morrison, Dunn & Borbeck, later becoming a member of the firm which assumed its present form of Morrison, Hohfeld, Foerster, Shuman & Clark. They engage in general civil practice, specializing in corporation law, and are Counsel for such interests as the California Bankers Association, Crocker-First National Bank, West American Finance Company, Spreckels Sugar Company, Honolulu Consolidated Oil Company, Crocker Estate Company and Santa Cruz Portland Cement Company.

 

Mr. Shuman holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and the Bar Association of San Francisco. He is also a Mason, and member of various clubs and other organizations.
