RICHARD S. SHAINWALD
Richard
S. Shainwald, honorary chairman of the Board of Pabro Products Inc., was born in New York City, New York,
on June 28, 1862; son of Nathan and Minna (Strauss) Shainwald.
After
attending the public schools in New York City he was a student at College of
City of New York from 1875 to 1877.
Mr. Shainwald
was in the accounting department of Chas. Zinn &
Company, wholesale willow ware, New York City, from 1877 to 1879; then in the
merchandising business in Boise, Idaho, from 1879 to 1892. He has been with Pabro Products, Inc., and predecessors since 1892,
president from 1928 to 1937 and now honorary chairman of the Board. He is also
vice president of Fibreboard Products, Inc., and
Moore Dry Dock Company; director of Wells Fargo Bank & Union Trust Company.
Mr. Shainwald
is a Republican; of Jewish religion; and member of the Commonwealth,
Concordia, Argonaut, and Stock Exchange Clubs, all of San Francisco,
California.
On January 23, 1890, he married Bertha
Lowenthal and has two children: Richard Herman and
Seville (Mrs. George A. Oppen).
