AUGUSTUS
L. MORRILL, M. D.
Augustus L. Morrill, M.D., whose office is at
No. 152 Fourth street, San Francisco, has been a resident of California since
1878, and has been engaged in the practice of medicine since 1887. He was
born in Colima, Mexico, in 1865, and, though a native of Mexico, is of American
parentage and of English descent. His father, Augustus Morrill, has been
a resident of Mexico for more than thirty years, engaged in the wholesale and
retail drug business. He was a native of New Hampshire; from 1869 to 1880
he was American Consul at Manzanillo. The subject of this sketch received
his early education in the public schools of Colima up to the age of thirteen
years, after which he attended the Military Academy at Oakland for six years,
graduating at that institution in 1884. He then commenced the study of
medicine in the medical department of the University of California, where he
graduated in the class of 1887, after a full three years' course, and received
his degree as Doctor of Medicine. He was immediately appointed house
surgeon of the City and County Hospital of San Francisco, which position he
continued one year. Next he spent almost one year in Mexico, and then
returned to San Francisco, where he engaged in private practice in his present
location.
