JAMES
KENNEDY MOFFITT
James
Kennedy Moffitt, identified with banking and other industries in San Francisco,
California, was born in that City November 15, 1865, the son of James and Delia
(Kennedy) Moffitt. He was graduated from the University of California at
Berkeley, California, with degree of Bachelor of Science in 1886; he also
received in 1941 the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws.
His business career began with the
firm of Blake, Moffitt & Towne, the oldest wholesale paper firm in
California, his father being one of the founders. Mr. Moffitt has for many
years been president of this company as well as being actively engaged in the
banking business with the Crocker First National Bank of San Francisco, being
presently chairman of the Executive Committee. He is also a director of the
California Insurance Company, San Francisco Remedial Loan Association, Ltd. and
Schmidt Lithograph Company. He was active for many years in the civic and
cultural affairs of San Francisco.

Mr. Moffitt was married October 1,
1907 to Pauline Fore who died in June, 1948, and has one daughter Genevieve,
married to Dr. Malcolm S. M. Watts.
