FREDERICK
WILLIAM MIELKE
Frederick
William Mielke, lawyer, was born January 12, 1892, in
New Auburn, Minnesota, the son of Fred and Maria Therese (Hartung)
Mielke.
He received his elementary training
in the public schools of Minnesota, Idaho, and Washington, and obtained his
legal education at the George Washington University, receiving his LL.B. degree
in 1917. Admitted to the Washington, D.C., bar in 1920 and to
the California bar in 1923.
Mr. Mielke
began his career as an income and estate tax consultant in New York City, 1920,
and continued in that capacity until 1922. In 1923 he came to San Francisco,
California, where he was on the legal staff of the Southern Pacific Company
from 1923 to 1928; associated with the law firm of McCutchen,
Olney, Mannon & Greene from 1928 to 1942; member
of the firm of Moran & Mielke from 1943 to 1945,
and since then has practiced under his own name. He is a director of Delta
Terminals, Inc., and of the Feather River Railway Company.
Mr. Mielke
is a member of the American Bar Association, California State Bar, and San
Francisco Bar Association; Comonwealth (sic) Club and
the Bohemian Club, both of San Francisco.
On July 14, 1917, he married
Cressida Maura Flynn and they have three children: Cressida Therese (Mrs.
Rupert Edmondson), Frederick William, Jr., and Robert Baird.
