ALBERT
CHESTER MATTEI
Albert
Chester Mattei, president of Honolulu Oil
Corporation, was born March 26, 1895, in Los Olivos,
California; son of Felix and Lucy (Fisher) Mattei.
His preparatory education was
received at Stanford University, from which he graduated in 1917 with the
degree of B.A.
Mr. Mttei
was formerly petroleum geologist for Pomeroy & Hamilton, Associated Oil
Company, and General Petroleum Corporation; later became assistant to the
president of the Honolulu Oil Corporation of San Francisco, California, and is
now president of same; also president of Industrial Research Laboratories,
Ltd.; and member of National Oil Policy Committee.
Member of the San Francisco Chamber
of commerce; director of California State Chamber of Commerce; director of
Western Oil and Gas Association; member of American Institute of Mining and
Metallurgical Engineers, and of American Petroleum Institute.
Mr. Mattei
holds membership in the following clubs: Bohemian, Pacific Union, Golf, Commercial,
Press (San Francisco); Cypress Point; Fort Worth; and California Club of Los
Angeles. He is a Republican.
On September 5, 1929, he married
Beatrice Ferne Orchard and they have one son, Peter
Orchard. Their home is at 1940 Vallejo Street, San Francisco 23, California.
