LOUIS R.
LURIE
Louis R.
Lurie, builder and real estate operator, was born September 6, 1888, in
Chicago, Illinois. He received his education in the common schools there.
He was a newsboy in Chicago from
1894 until 1902 and then opened a print shop in Chicago in 1902; in 1906 moved
to Seattle, Washington, where he was a printer until 1910; then went into the
real estate business, and since 1914 has been in San Francisco as a builder and
real estate operator and also in show business. He is president of The Lurie
Company and president of various other corporations.
He is a Republican, and a member of
the following clubs: Press, Commonwealth, Concordia-Argonaut, Commercial--all of San Francisco; Harmonie
and The Lambs of New York.
He married Babette
Greenebaum on May 21, 1918, and has one son, Robert
Alfred, now a lieutenant in the Air Force.
