REVEREND
LELAND R. KEYS
Leland
R. Keys, clergyman, was born in St. Charles, Michigan, on November 14, 1899. He
is the son of Robert Stinson Keys and Susan Rebecca (Smith).
He received the A.B. degree from
Occidental College, Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Bible and
Missionary Training School in Findlay, Ohio, he took a special course in the
San Francisco Theological Seminary, San Anselmo,
California (Pastor’s courses on Mondays, one year).
After his engagement as clerk in a
tool and cutlery store in Detroit, Michigan, he helped build concrete barges
for use in the Welland Canal, at close of World War
I, Detroit, Michigan, then engaged briefly in evangelistic work in the middle
west and California. From 1924 to 1938, he pastored
churches in Reedley, Fresno, and Pasadena, California. From 1931 to 1935, he
served as Dean of Southern California Bible College, Pasadena, California, and from 1938 to 1940,
Dean of Glad Tidings Institute, San Francisco, California; District Superintendent
for Northern California and Nevada District Council, Assemblies of God, from
1940 to 1941. Since 1941 he has served as General Presbyter of Northern
California and Nevada District Council of the Assemblies of God.
The Reverend Mr. Keys married Annabel
A. Eisele on June 16, 1923, and they have one son,
Robert, born January 8, 1932, and one daughter, Beverly, Born December 5, 1934.
The family residence is at 525 Crestlake Drive, San Francisco
16, California.
