EDWARD
PYM JONES
Edward
Pym Jones, insurance, was born in San Francisco, California, on May 7, 1906,
and is the son of Edward Morgan and Sue Mhoon (Smith)
Jones. He received his education in private schools of San Francisco.
Mr. Jones has been a member of
Edward M. Jones & Son, insurance broker firm, since 1931 and partner in the
firm since 1937. He also has been president and director of Insurance Service
Company of San Francisco since 1939; vice president and director of Agricultural
Exchange Corporation and Growers Management Corporation; member of Executive
Committee of the National Association of Insurance Brokers; member and former
president, vice president and director of Insurance Brokers Exchange of San
Francisco and also has been chairman of most of their committees; director of
Twenty-Five Associates, Inc. (former president).
From 1942 to 1944 Mr. Jones served
as insurance advisor under the War Projects Insurance Service Agreement for the
Navy Department.
Member of Olympic Club, San
Francisco Commercial Club, Lakeside Country Cub; San Francisco Opera Guild; San
Francisco Museum of Art; San Francisco Art Association; American Institute of
Management; San Francisco Hotel Association; California Hay, Grain and Feed
Dealers Association; Insurance Brokers Exchange of California; San Francisco
Chamber of Commerce; San Francisco Grain Exchange; and is a patron of
Smithsonian Institution.
Mr. Jones married Aline von Johannsen on June 30,
1934. Their home is in San Francisco, California, at 3401 Clay Street.
