HOHFELD
Edward Hohfeld, lawyer, was born in Oakland, California, on May 9,
1875; the son of Edward and Rosa (Hillebrand).
He graduated from the University of
California in 1898 with the degree of A.B.; received the degree of LL.B. from
Harvard University in 1907. He was a teacher in the California High Schools
from 1899 to 1904; admitted to the California bar in 1907.
Mr. Hohfeld
has been in practice of the law in San Francisco, California, since his
admittance to the bar in 1907. He is counsel for the firm of Morrison, Hohfeld, Foerster, Shuman &
Clark; trustee of May T. Morrison Trust Estate, also William and Alice Hinckley
Fund, and trustee of Mills College.
He is a member of the American Bar
Association, San Francisco Bar Association, State Bar of California; patron of
the California Academy of Sciences; member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Delta
Phi fraternities; and belongs to the Pacific-Union Club, Harvard Club and
Commonwealth Club.
On April 22, 1915, he married
Lillian Devendorf and they have one daughter, Lillian
Jane. The family residence is at 2108 Broadway, San Francisco, California.
