Biographies
F. F. HAMILTON
F. F. Hamilton, of the firm of Percy &
Hamilton, architects, San Francisco, is a native of New England. He received his education and studied
architecture in the city of Boston, where he remained until 1875, when he came
to the Pacific coast, and since then for the past fifteen years has been
prominently identified with the architectural and building interests of the
city and State. Among the many prominent
and substantial structures designed and erected by the well-known firm, are the
magnificent building of the Academy of Sciences, the First Unitarian Church,
the Omnibus & Cable Company’s buildings, the play-house at Golden Gate
Park, Leland Stanford, Jr.’s Museum at Palo Alto, several large apartment
houses, Insane Asylum at Stockton, and many others. The firm of Percy & Hamilton have taken a
leading position in the profession and enjoy an enviable reputation.
