HORACE C.
GUITTARD
Horace C. Guittard, who is president of the Guittard Chocolate Company at 135 Main Street San Francisco, is conducting one of the pioneer manufacturing enterprises of this city, that of making chocolate and cocoa products. He is a native of San Francisco, his birth occurring October 2, 1878, and he is a son of Etienne and Anna (Burke) Guittard. The father was the founder of the Guittard Chocolate Company in the year 1868.
Mr. Guittard was educated in the public schools of this city, and his active career in business has been entirely in the occupation in which he is now engaged. The company has been very successful. It holds a United States patent on a chocolate coating application process.
In October, 1903, Mr. Guittard was married to Miss Mabelle Ward, of San Francisco. They live at 1958 Vallejo street. Mr. Guittard is a republican in politics, and is a communicant of the Roman Catholic Church.
