ARNOLD GRUNIGEN, JR.
Arnold Grunigen, Jr., investment banker and sales manager of J.
Barth & Company of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. The firm is a member of the New York Stock
Exchange.
He is a native Californian (born of
Swiss parents), was educated in San Francisco and began his business career
with E. H. Rollins & Sons, moving from office boy to sales manager during
the fifteen years he was with them. The next eighteen years were spent with Weeden & Co. as account executive and director of the
firm. Both these concerns were Investment Security dealers.
He was born in San Francisco,
California on July 30, 1901, the son of Arnold and Marguerite (Haesler) Grunigen.
He has given much time to civic and
national affairs as well as to Church and inter-denominational activities. He
is past governor, Investment Bankers Association of America; past president,
St. Francis Homes Association; past member-mayor of San Francisco’s Post War
Planning Committee; past executive manager, United States Treasury’s Victory
Fund committee for the 12th Federal Reserve District, First and
Second War Loan Campaigns; past chairman, Christian Business Men’s Committee of
San Francisco, California.
He now serves in the following
capacities: chairman, Christian Business Men’s Committee, International;
trustee, Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California; trustee, Mount Hermon Association, Mt. Hermon,
California; vice president, Western Book & Track Company, Oakland,
California; elder and men’s Bible Class teacher, Calvary Presbyterian Church,
San Francisco; chairman, Pacific Coast Committee-Friends of Israel &
Missionary Movement; member, Board of Reference--Wheaton College, Wheaton,
Illinois.
On August 5, 1924, he married Susan
May Weber; children: David Warren (deceased), Robert Weber and Sarah
Marguerite.
