Edward Emerson, D. D. S., whose office is at No. 135
Sixth street, San Francisco, has been a resident of California since 1883, and
has been engaged in the practice of dentistry since 1880. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1875,
and is of English extraction, although his ancestors have been residents of
America about 250 years, they having been among the early settlers of Long
Island. His father, James Emerson, was
most of his lifetime engaged in business in New York city.
Edward
received his early education in the public schools of Brooklyn and
Philadelphia. He commenced the study of
dentistry in 1875, under the preceptorship of Dr. Farrington, a dentist of
Philadelphia, with whom he studied three years. He then engaged in practice in Brooklyn, New York, and later in
Chicago, Illinois, where he spent several years. In 1883 he came to California, and has been engaged in his
profession since that time in San Francisco.
