SIDNEY
M. EHRMAN
Sidney
M. Ehrman, lawyer, son of Myer and Frederika (Rider), was born in San Francisco, California,
on August 23, 1873.
He was a student at the University
of Munich (Germany) in 1892-93; graduated from University of California in 1896
with the B.L. degree, and from Hastings College of Law in 1898 with the LL.B.
degree.
Mr. Edrman
practiced law in association with W. S. Goodfellow
and Garrett W. McEnerney, San Francisco, California,
from 1898 to 1905; member of the firm of Heller, Powers & Ehrman from 1906 to 1921; and has been a member of the firm
of Heller, Ehrman, White
& McAuliffe since 1921.
He is regent of the University of
California; director of San Francisco Opera Company, San Francisco Musical
Association, Hastings College of Law, and San Francisco Jewish Community
Center.
Member of the
California Historical Society; San Francisco Stock Exchange, Lunch Club and the
St. Francis Yacht Club. Republican. Jewish religion.
Mr. Ehrman
married Florence Hellman on June 30, 1904; children: Sidney Hellman (deceased),
Esther Hellman (Mrs. Lazard). The family residence is at 2970 Broadway, San
Francisco, California.
