JOHN J.
DOYLE
John J. Doyle has been attorney for the San Francisco branch of the American Automobile Insurance Company since his admission to the bar in 1927. He is a popular young native son of this city, born May 8, 1900, his parents being John R. and Margaret A. (Leyden) Doyle, the former a native of Ireland and the latter of Jewett City, Connecticut, where they were married. John R. Doyle came to San Francisco about 1870. He was a locomotive engineer who did considerable work in connection with pioneer railroad building in the northwest, being engineer on a construction train out of Spokane, Washington. He died January 17, 1930, and is survived by his widow and their two sons.
John J. Doyle began his education in a parochial school, completed a high school course by graduation in 1924 and received his professional training in St. Ignatius College of Law in San Francisco, which institution conferred upon him the degree of LL. B. He passed the bar examination in 1927 and during the past four years has been associated as attorney with the American Automobile Insurance Company, maintaining offices at 114 Sansome street, in San Francisco. He is a member of the California State Bar Association and the Young Men’s Institure of San Francisco and is well known as one of the rising and successful young lawyers of the city. His political views are in accord with the principles of the democratic party. Mr. Doyle is fond of swimming and horseback riding, to which he turns for recreation when his professional work permits.
