GEORGE A. CORBETT

George A. Corbett, who is now engaged in the practice of law at 1040 Russ building in the city of San Francisco, has made a most commendable record during the comparatively few years he has been a member of the bar. He was born in Eureka, California, March 4, 1899, and is a son of Clarence D. and Caroline L. (Fulmore) Corbett, both of whom were born in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada, and came to California when in their youth. The father was a lumberman by occupation.

George A. Corbett was educated in the grade and high schools of Eureka, the University of California, in Stanford University, and in the Hastings College of Law, having graduated from the latter institution with the Bachelor of Laws degree in 1924. He passed the bar examination the same year, and has been admitted to the federal, the district, and the superior courts. His initial years in the law have been extraordinarily successful ones, and he holds the respect of both his contemporaries and his clients.

During the period of the United States’ participation in the World war, Mr. Corbett was a member of the Students’ Army Training Corps. He is a member of Berkeley Lodge, No. 1002, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Tau Kappa Epsilon collegiate fraternity, and the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.

His political affiliation is with the republican party. In recreation, he is devoted to fishing, to outdoor life of all kinds, and to the game of tennis. Mr. Corbett is unmarried. In social and civic affairs of San Francisco he has displayed an interest indicating genuine loyalty to his home city, to his friends and his associates.
