BRAWNER
A. H. Brawner,
president of W. P. Fuller & Company, graduated from Princeton University in
1921. He began his career with the W. P. Fuller & Company in the following year.
This company was founded by his grandfather, W. P. Fuller, and is the oldest
and largest paint, glass and wallpaper firm on the Pacific Coast. For many
years Mr. Brawner handled labor relations and
personnel matters for the company. Prior to August, 1942, when he was
commissioned a major in the United States Army, he had served variously as
company treasurer, secretary-treasurer and vice president. He became president
of the firm in January of 1946.
Mr. Brawner is well known in the Midwest for his World War II
service in the
Army.
Stationed in Chicago, Illinois, Colonel Brawner
headed the Labor Branch of the Sixth Service Command until his return to
civilian life in November of 1945. For this service he was awarded the Legion
of Merit.
Among other activities in the San
Francisco Bay region, he is a director of the Wells Fargo Bank and Union Trust
Company, California Pacific Title Insurance Company, and Children’s Hospital of
San Francisco. He is also president of the Board of Directors of Mills Memorial
Hospital in San Francisco.
