IRVING F.
BETTS
Prominent among the younger citizens of San Francisco engaged in the real estate and insurance business is Irving F. Betts, whose offices are situated at 5754 Geary street. He was born in this city March 22, 1899, and is a son of Edward T. and Grace (Cheney) Betts. His father came to Oakland, California, as a representative of the Best Lumber Company in 1895, and later moved to San Francisco, where he resided until his death on February 14, 1931. He was married to Grace Cheney, an eastern girl, in San Rafael, California, and they became the parents of two sons.
Irving F. Betts was reared in San Francisco, and completed his public school education by graduation from the High School of Commerce. He then entered the employ of the Nippon Trading Company, with which he remained from 1916 until 1918, when he took up the general real estate and insurance business, in which he has met with pronounced success and has manifested real ability.
Mr. Betts is a republican, and has been active in the ranks of his party, becoming a candidate for supervisor in 1931. He has been much interested in civic matters, and is a member of the Geary Street Merchants’ Association and the Park Presidio Improvement Club. He belongs to the Loyal Order of Moose, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Inner Circle. Tennis is his favorite recreation. Mr. Betts is unmarried.
