GUS S. BARBIERI

Descendant of one of the most illustrious Italian families of San Francisco, Gus S. Barbieri is now the administrator in charge of the estate of his honored father, the late Paul Barbieri, whose biography is presented elsewhere in this history of San Francisco.

Gus S. Barbieri was born in San Francisco, California, May 15, 1885, and is a son of Paul and Anna Marie (Carsten) Barbieri. He received his education in the public schools of his native city and in a business college. For ten years thereafter, he was connected with the commission house owned by his father, and then was employed in the Hillsborough police department as a sergeant. After the death of his father, he resigned in order to assume the responsible duties of administrator of the Barbieri estate. He has carried on with commendable ability the affairs left by his father, and has honored the fine tradition and memory of his respected sire. He maintains his offices in San Francisco at 638 Montgomery street.

Mr. Barbieri is a republican in his political views. He is an active member of the Natives Sons of the Golden West and the Knights of Pythias. He is unmarried.
