WILLIAM C. BACON

 

 

      William C. Bacon, who is a member of the prominent law firm of Redman, Alexander & Bacon in San Francisco, with offices at 333 Pine street, is generally recognized as one of the city’s most competent and well informed attorneys. He was born in Sanborn, Iowa, March 11, 1892, and is a son of William Fremont and Rose Claire (Shaffer) Bacon. William F. Bacon has been a merchant and banker of high standing, and has taken as active part in republican conventions. He and his wife, who are now residing in Grand Forks, North Dakota, are the parents of two sons.

      In the public schools of Iowa and North Dakota, William C. Bacon acquired his early educational training, his parents having moved to the latter state. He then entered the University of North Dakota, from which institution he received the degree of Bachelor of Science, later pursuing a law course at Columbia University in New York. He finished his legal studies at Stanford University in California, and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1916. He then started to practice law in Great Falls, Montana, but his work there was interrupted by the war. He enlisted and was assigned to the judge advocate’s department with the rank of second lieutenant. On September 21, 1919, he received his honorable discharge, at which time he held the rank of captain. He then became associated with the legal firm of which he is now a member. He belongs to the San Francisco Bar Association and the California Bar Association.

      On November 29, 1923, Mr. Bacon was married to Miss Linnie Marks, of North Dakota, their wedding having occurred in Spokane, Washington, and they are now the parents of a son, William Martin Bacon. Their residence is situated at 2435 Bay street in San Francisco.

      In politics, Mr. Bacon has given his support to the republican party. Golf and outdoor life of various kinds have been his favorite diversions. He has indicated real interest in the welfare of his residence city and has fulfilled in creditable manner all of his civic obligations.
