THEODORE HAMMOND SMITH
Theodore Hammond Smith, president and director of Blake Hammond Manor, was born March 23, 1896, In Lincoln, Illinois. He is the son of William Hammond Cross and Elizabeth Ellen (Blake) Smith. A student at Washington University Medical School, 1917; graduate of Missouri School of Social Economy, St. Louis, 1920; he received the A.B. degree from University of Illinois in 1921.
Mr. Smith was associated with Beverly Farm, Godfrey, Illinois, from 1921 to 1928, assistant superintendent of same from 1928 to 1935. He organized the Blake Hammond Manor at Ben Lomond, California, in 1936 and since served as president and director.
In World War I, he served with the United States Navy Medical Corps, 1917 to 1918.
Fellow of American Association of Metal Deficiency; and California Academy of Science. Mr. Smith is a world traveler and is prominent in many, various local organizations.
On July 23, 1922, Mr. Smith married Dorothy W. Stamper. They have four children: Ruth Ellen, Theodore Hammond, Jr., Michael Blake and John Hunter.
