CHARLES E. SCOTT

CHARLES E. SCOTT, junior member of the firm of Richey & Scott, packers and dryers, was born near Springfield, Sangamon county, Ill., November 6, 1873, a son of William Scott, also a native of Illinois, who came to California in 1874, locating on a farm in Sonoma county.  Charles E. came to the coast in 1890, settled near San Jose, and has since become one of the most promising of the younger generation of fruit operators of this section.  November 8, 1897, he married Mabel Richey, a native of Michigan, and they have two children, Gladys and Adelaide.  Mr. Scott is a Republican in politics, and is fraternally connected with the Knights of Pythias.  He is an enthusiastic recruit to the great army of home seekers in this ideal state, and with his natural ability and personally fine and agreeable characteristics, bids fair to realize his reasonable ambitions.
