DUNCAN ONEAL

 

 

            Duncan Oneal, lawyer, was born November 12, 1903, in San Jose, California, the son of Louis and Anna (Hatman).

            He received his preparatory education at San Jose State College and Stanford University, graduating from the latter in 1926 with the A.B. degree; studied law at Stanford University Law School and was admitted to the California bar on September 18, 1929.

            Mr. Oneal began law practice in association with Louis Oneal at San Jose, California; later became a member of the firm Rankin, Oneal, Luckhardt & Hall, which is now the firm of Rankin, Oneal, Luckhardt, Center & Hall.  Mr. Oneal has an extensive trial practice and also engaged in corporation and probate law.  Among his clientele are such firms and corporations as Southern Pacific Company, Permanente Cement Company, Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Company, Nehi Bottling Company.  He is a member of the Executive Board of Santa Clara County Council of Boy Scouts of America, Executive Board of Santa Clara County Fair Association, Board of Trustees of Community Welfare Council of Santa Clara County, Board of Directors of The First National Bank of San Jose, California; member of Fraternity Lodge No. 399, Masonic Blue Lodge, Howard Chapter, No. 14 R.A.M., Scottish Rite 32, Islam Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Delta Sigma and Delta Tau Delta fraternities, San Jose Chamber of Commerce (past president), Santa Clara County Bar Association (president, 1942-43), State Bar of California; American Judicature Society, Sainte Claire Club, San Jose, California and Board of Directors of Sainte Claire Club.

            On May 20, 1930, Mr. Oneal married Patty Einfalt, at San Jose, California.  They have two sons, Dan and Louis.

            Mr. Oneal is co-owner of an 11,000-acre Cattle ranch near Mount Hamilton in the County of Santa Clara.

            His hobbies are fishing and hunting and other sports of all kinds.
