THOMAS JOSEPH PITTS
Among the younger representatives of
the legal profession in San Bernardino County is numbered Thomas Joseph Pitts,
who is practicing successfully in Ontario.
He was born in Ashfork, Yavapai County,
Arizona, February 3, 1905, and is a son of James Albert and Ella M. (Foley)
Pitts, the latter a native of Iowa and a daughter of Michael Pitts, of New
York. James Albert Pitts was born in
Missouri and is now a retired cattleman of Upland, California. He has membership in the Methodist Episcopal
Church and makes liberal donations to its support.
At Ashfork,
Thomas J. Pitts acquired a grammar school education and in 1922 was graduated
from St. Mary’s College at Oakland, California.
He next attended Loyola University at Los Angeles, where he received the
Bachelor of Philosophy degree in 1926, and the following year won the degree of
Bachelor of Laws from St. Vincent’s College of Law. In October, 1927, he was admitted to the bar
at Los Angeles and located for practice in Ontario in 1929. An able attorney and a safe counselor, he
enjoys a desirable clientele and maintains offices in the Granada Theatre
Building.
In 1929 Mr. Pitts was married to
Miss Martha Lee Addenbrooke, of Nevada, and they now
have a daughter, Martha Lee. For
recreation Mr. Pitts turns to golf, playing on the links of the Red Hill
Country Club, in which he has membership.
He also belongs to the Alpha Lambda fraternity, the Lions Club, Jonathan
Club, the San Bernardino County Bar Association and the
California State Bar Association. He
gives to his practice his undivided attention and is rapidly coming to the fore
in a most exacting profession.
