Biographies
ROBERT M. BRADLEY, JR.
Robert M. Bradley, Jr., is a young
attorney of Redlands, with offices in Suite 8 of the V. L. Gregory
Building. A native son of the Golden
State, he was born in San Bernardino, June 25, 1901. His father, Robert M. Bradley, who was born
in Iowa, is now residing at Huntington Beach, California, where he is actively
engaged in the real estate business. He
married Elizabeth Lightfoot Curtis, of San Bernardino, whose father, I. H.
Curtis, organized the Baptist Church in California in 1862. Mrs. Bradley, one of the best known women of
her community, has served as supervisor of attendance in connection with the
public schools for a period of thirteen years.
She is also an authority on wild flowers and belongs to the Samuel B.
Parish Botanical Society. Mr. and Mrs.
Robert M. Bradley are the parents of three children: Robert M., Jr., of this review; Elizabeth,
who is the wife of Chester Ferris, a banker of Santa Barbara; and Mildred, a
graduate of the San Bernardino high school.
After completing the high school
course at San Bernardino Robert M. Bradley, Jr., entered the University of
Redlands, from which institution he was graduated with the Bachelor of Arts
degree as a member of the class of 1924.
His professional training was received at the University of Southern
California, which in 1927 conferred upon him the degree of Bachelor of
Laws. He became a member of Phi Chi
fraternity while attending the University of Redlands and also belongs to the
honorary dramatic society of Delta Alpha Phi, the legal fraternity Gamma Eta
Gamma, and the honorary legal fraternity of Skull and Scales. Mr. Bradley worked his way through college
and was a member of the football team.
Admitted to the bar in 1928, he began practice in San Bernardino but the
following year came to Redlands, where he has continued active in the work of
his chosen profession to the present time.
In August, 1930 Mr. Robert M.
Bradley, Jr., was united in marriage with Miss Helen Battie,
daughter of G. W. and Nellie (Pruitt) Battie, and a
graduate of Pomona College. Mr. Bradley
belongs to the Town Club and along strictly professional lines has membership
in the San Bernardino County Bar Association and the California State Bar
Association.
