ADOLPH TEICHERT, JR.
Adolph Teichert, Jr., chairman of the Board of A. Teichert
& Son, Inc., was born in

After his
graduation from the university Mr. Teichert entered
into partnership with his father in the contracting business. Later, in 1927,
the firm was incorporated, at which time he was elected vice president and
general manager, a position he held until his father’s retirement. He then was
elected president of A. Teichert & Son, Inc.
Mr. Teichert’s father established the firm in
1878 when he first entered the contracting business in Sacramento, California.
The firm, of which he is now chairman of the Board, is engaged in engineering
contracting, building highways, bridges, dams, railroads, etc., all over the
State of
He is a
past president of the Associated General Contractors of America, Inc. and continues
active participation in their program as a member of the executive committee,
and as chairman and member of several important committees; former president of
the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, the Sacramento Community Chest, Young Men’s
Christian Association, and the Exchange Club of Sacramento, of which he was
also a district governor, and he has always taken active part in all projects
for the betterment of the community.
Mr. Teichert’s hobby is golf, in which he scores in the 80's.
He is a member of the Del Paso Country Club and the Sutter Club of Sacramento;
the Olympic Club of San Francisco; the Jonathan Club of
Mr Teichert in 1912 married
Augusta Marie Quaas (deceased 1940); children: Adolph
Henry (living in New York City); Henry (attorney in Sacramento); and Nancy
(student at Stanford University). His other son Frederick Quaas,
well known in construction circles, died in 1944. Married
Alma A. Greenwalt on November 29, 1942.
