G. H. HOFFMAN, M.D.

   G. H. Hoffman, M.D. is the one pioneer unknown of the original twelve of the Sacramento Society for Medical Improvement.  He attended the first meeting, March 17, 1868, in Dr. G. L. Simmons' office, as well as the April 7th and May 19th gatherings.  At each assemblage he took part in the discussion.  However, he was not present May 4, 1869 when members signed the Constitution.  As a consequence, his age, nativity and school of medicine are missing.

Dr. Hoffman was practicing medicine in Sacramento in 1854-'55, with an office on Fourth street, between K and L.¹  He is not listed in succeeding Directories.  After May, 1868 his name never again appears in Minutes of the Society.  No information has been found as to his whereabouts.  He no doubt left Sacramento to practice elsewhere.
