WENDILL
EARL REDWINE
Long intrusted
[sic] with the duties of a public prosecutor, W. Earl Redwine
is widely known by reason of his work in that connection and has established an
enviable record as district attorney for Riverside county
[sic]. A native of Dade county [sic], Missouri, he was born on a farm in the Ozarks,
January 20, 1894, and is a son of Cambridge C. and Dora (McPeak)
Redwine, the former born in Indiana and the latter in
Missouri. In his earlier years the
father was a farmer and school teacher [sic].
He is now retired.
A member of a family of four
children, W. Earl Redwine was a lad of eleven years
when his parents removed to California, establishing their home in Riverside,
and here he attended the grammar and high schools. His higher education was acquired in Leland
Stanford University, which awarded him the A. B. degree in 1918, and while a
student there he became a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. Admitted to the bar at Los Angeles,
California, in 1921, he practiced in that city until he became connected with
the United States Veterans’ Bureau as assistant chief of the rehabilitation
division. He came to
Riverside in 1925, when appointed deputy district attorney, and proved so
capable that he was elected to the office in 1930. Presenting his evidence with forcefulness,
eloquence and skill, he has secured a large percentage of convictions and has
clearly demonstrated that he is the right man for the office.
In 1921 Mr. Redwine
was married in Los Angeles to Miss Dorothy Enid McKenzie, who is secretary of
the Woman’s Club of Riverside and active in social affairs. For recreation Mr. Redwine
turns to fishing, hunting and golf. He
belongs to the Victoria Country Club of Riverside. He is a York Rite Mason, a noble of Al Malaikah Temple of the Mystic Shrine in Los Angeles, and a
past exalted ruler of the Riverside Lodge of Elks. At the time of the World war he served for
two years on the legal advisory board in Santa Clara county
[sic], discharging his duties with characteristic thoroughness, fidelity and
efficiency. A talented lawyer of proved
integrity and worth, he upholds the high standards of the California Bar
association, to which he belongs.
