Theme: The graduating seniors kindle together the altar flame of their
Loyalty. The Setting: A hill-top grove under the open sky. The group of
graduates gather around a woodland altar reared of Redwood, their
chosen symbol. |

|
"Our
Ceremonies Would lend your
thoughts into some silent grove, Where redwoods
stand in pillard loveliness, Lifting the valley
curtains of the sky. We choose the
redwood for symbol, Brave as the rugged
mountain steepe it climbs. Serenely imperturable through storm, Self-poised amid
the conflict and the fire, Firm rooted in the
warm brown human earth - Head lifted high -
a dream amid the stars. This redwood altar
has been reared tonifight That we may gather
round it in farewell. It stands as symbol
of our fellowship, Recalling all our
finest comradeship." |
