Upon examing the list as of Sept. 1, 1854, published in the San Francisco Herald Oct. 17-19, 1854, it becomes apparent that the above list is intended to show the additions between Sept 1 and Dec. 31, 1854; and the list published May 29, 1855, in Alta California, is probably correct for Jan. 1, 1855 as stated.)
