Biographies
HONORABLE EMERSON J. MARKS
Emerson J. Marks, attorney, was born November 30, 1876, in New York State.
He came to California in 1881 and is a graduate of Santa Ana (California) grammar and high schools. Received his legal education at Hastings College of Law, University of California, and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court in May of 1899.
Judge Marks served as Judge of Superior Court, Orange County, California, from July 2, 1925 to September 13, 1929. After 1929 he served as Associate Justice of District Court of Appeals, Fourth Appellate District, California, until July 31, 1948, and retired.
During World War I, Judge Marks served with the United States Army from August 1917 to May 1919. At the time of his discharge his rank was Major of Infantry, General Staff Corps.
