EDWARD FRANCES WEHRLE

In this era of public supervision, with commerce and industry constantly dependent upon the lawyer for the preservation of rights and the observation of duties, a lawyer must have business training, in addition to a thorough knowledge of the law, in order to most effectually serve his clients. An able business man as well as a competent lawyer, Edward F. Wehrle, of Los Angeles, has attained success in the practice of law which is most gratifying.

Mr. Wehrle is a native of Iowa, and was born in 1870. After receiving his preparatory educational training in public schools he attended Iowa Wesleyan University, and then the State University of Iowa, which conferred on him the Ph. B. degree in 1891. He later entered the University of Michigan, graduating with the LL. B. degree in 1897. He was admitted to the Michigan bar the same year.

In 1897 Mr. Wehrle moved to California and located in Los Angeles. He engages in general civil practice, specializing in corporation and probate law, and practices individually. His clientele is a large one of representative character, and he has conducted many important pieces of litigation.

In addition to his practice Mr. Wehrle has numerous business interests, and is Director of the Los Angeles Brewing Company, Surf, Land & Water Company, Mansfield Land & Cattle Company, and other corporations. He holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and Los Angeles County Bar Association, which he has served as Trustee, member of the Grievance Committee, and Chairman of the Committee on Admissions. He is a member of the Elks, and of the Jonathan Club and California Club.
