CARL FREIHERR von BIBRA
Carl Freiherr von Bibra, chairman of the Board of Exeter Oil Company, Ltd., and affiliated companies, was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on August 26, 1897. He is the son of Baron Wolfgang and Baroness Franziska (Penz de Doelitz) von Bibra. He received his A.B. at Stanford University in 1918.
Mr. von Bibra was chemical engineer for Shell Oil Company, Martinez, California, 1918 to 1919; assistant manager of refineries and manager of Gas Department of General Petroleum Corporation, Los Angeles, 1919 to 1924. he has been president of Exeter Oil Company, Ltd., oil production and sales, with the main office at Long Beach, California, since 1924 and chairman of the Board of same since 1926.
Through inheritance Mr. von Bibra is the owner of a castle and estate of Brennhausen in Unterfranken, Bavaria, Germany.
Member of the American Chemical Society, and the University Club of Los Angeles.
Mr. von Bibra married Edith Rawcliffe Thompson on March 27, 1923, and has three children: Adele Cecilia Stephanie, Edith Huberta Leonie and Conrad Carl Eberhard.
