FRANK GILL
TYRRELL
Frank G. Tyrrell, well known Los Angeles attorney, has attained nation-wide reputation as a writer and public speaker. He is a native of California, and was born in 1865 at Ferndale. After receiving his preparatory educational training in public schools, and graduating from the San Jose State Normal School in 1883, he taught school for about two years in Santa Clara and Humboldt Counties. He then studied law in the offices of William J. Tyrrell, Harrisonville, Mo., and was admitted to the bar in 1887.
For about two years Mr. Tyrrell practiced at Harrisonville, and then located at St. Louis, where he remained until 1904. Two years later he returned to California and entered practice at Los Angeles in partnership with William L. Jarrott under the firm name of Jarrott & Tyrrell. Since the dissolution of this association in 1910 he has practiced individually. Mr. Tyrrell has served as a Lyceum lecturer. Among his published works is "Political Thuggery," which appeared in 1903. In 1896 the Missouri State University conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Divinity, and in 1916 the degree of LL. D. was conferred on him by the Berkeley Bible Seminary.
Mr. Tyrrell holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is a Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the Elks, Native Sons of the Golden West, which he served as President in 1908; Hollywood Country Club, and Deauville Beach Club. In 1888 he married Edna Burford Scott and they have three daughters, Kathleen, now Mrs. Robert A. Jarrott; Judith, now the wife of Dr. F. W. Line; and Emily.
