ELBRIDGE
HADLEY STUART
Elbridge Hadley Stuart, president of Carnation Company, was born in El Paso, Texas, on November 9, 1887; son of Elbridge Amos and Mary (Horner) Stuart.
He graduated from Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts, in 1908; then entered Sheffield Scientific School of Yale University, from which he received the B.S. degree in 1911.
Mr. Stuart has been associated with Carnation Company, evaporated milk, since 1911, advancing to superintendent of their factory in 1912, assistant general superintendent of operations in 1914, vice president in 1916, executive vice president in 1926, and president since February 23, 1932. He is also president of General Milk Company, and Mohawk Milk Products Company, Inc.; director of Albers Milling Company, Seattle-First National Bank, Founders’ Insurance Company, and Security First National Bank of Los Angeles, trustee of California Institute of Technology (Pasadena).
Member of the following clubs: Los Angeles (California) Country, Bel-Air Bay Club, California Club. He is a Republican.
Mr. Stuart married Nan Fullerton on June 22, 1916 (died in 1937); children: Elbridge Hadley, Reginald Fullerton Dwight Lyman. On February 24, 1945 he married Mrs. Evelyn Clark Ruble. Their home is at Bel-Air, Los Angeles, California.
