DR. CHARLES
HENRY STRUB
Dr. Charles Henry Strub, executive vice president of Los Angeles Turf Club, Inc., was born in Hollister, California, November 3, 1884; son of Isadore William and Rebecca (Williamson) Strub.
Studied at St. Ignatius College, San Francisco, 1890-95; then at Santa Clara (California) College, 1896-1902; received his D.D.S. at University of California in 1906.
Dr. Strub was engaged in practice of dentistry, San Francisco, 1906-15; president of San Francisco Baseball Club, 1917-38; vice president and general manager of Los Angeles Turf Club, Inc., Arcadia, California, 1934-45, and executive vice president since 1945. President of Sierra Nevada Investment Company, San Francisco, 1928-44; member of Board of Directors of Golden Gate International Exposition, 1936-39, and managing director in 1939.
Director of The All Year Club of Southern California, Ltd., since 1938; vice president and director of Greater Los Angeles Opera Associates, Inc., since 1947; member of Tennis Patrons Association of Southern California since 1947; member of sponsoring committee of Catholic Youth Association since 1947; director of Metropolitan Opera Association, Inc., New York, since 1948; trustee of Southern California Symphony Association since 1943 and vice president and member of executive committee since 1947; vice president and chairman of operations committee of Greater Los Angeles Plans, Inc., since 1945 and director since 1947.
Dr. Strub is a member of the Association of Professional Baseball Players of America; California Alumni Association, Xi Psi Phi; Republican; Roman Catholic. Member of California (Los Angeles) Club; Annandale Golf Club (Pasadena, California); Twenty Nine, Inc. (New York).
On April 14, 1915, Dr. Strub married Vera Wood and they have five children: Peter, Robert, Mary Louise, Virginia and Elizabeth.
